Normally I wouldn’t consider a games sale big news. However, for Apple this feels like new ground. I can’t remember the last time there was any kind of organised games sale on the Mac App Store. The store itself doesn’t have a good reputation amongst macOS users. It desperately needs an overhaul, particularly to help with discovery for game devs. This sale does a good job of showcasing most of the recent big budget releases for macOS. Some of which the mac versions are exclusive to the App Store, such as the Resident Evil games. Someone has put real effort into getting this to happen and it’s another positive step towards games on mac being taken more seriously. From a quick glance discounts appear to be between 20% and 60%.
